ADDITIONAL NOTES:

the walt disney concert hall: downtown los angeles. construction began in dec 1999, and the first Philharmonic performances will be in the fall of 2003.

check out a may 2001 image of the construction, read more building info at arcspace, or see an unofficial list of frank gehry's work. plus the los angeles philharmonic's site has sketches, models, construction photos and a webcam. finally, some interesting discussion here.

Absolutely gorgeous photos. Are the performers going to be limited to selections from our favorite Disney films? ;)

This will be a very special place for "shiny, happy" people. I heard he used about 100,000 cans of silver rustoleum for this job. His arm must be dead!

Stunningly beautiful images, Rion. You've captured the cold blue stainless steel facade perfectly!

I will forever hate you for having beaten me to seeing this (not that I had planned to see it this century or anything). :)

bilbao's definitely on the list, but no, it's LA's version of a gehry. (maybe we should plan a european field trip...)
