a couple of years ago, we rented out a friend’s beach house for the entire summer in seaside park... around avenue D directly across from the dunes. i love that place. the great thing was that we had it all week long, so could skip out of work whenever we wanted to go hang out on the beach or boardwalk. we’d usually cruise in on the bus on fridays and head straight to the ‘sawmill’ for some pizza (it was located at the south (?) end of the boardwalk... near the rollercoaster) and cheap, cheap pitchers.
then the next day would be beach in the morning until someone got hungry enough to go make a sub run. around 6pm, we’d crack a few beers on the beach playing cards, finally migrating to the driveway of the house (they called it the riviera) to play more cards and drink more frozen cocktails. needless to say, by the end of the summer, we were all unaturally dark.
what a summer.
did i mention night swimming?
