ADDITIONAL NOTES:
When it comes to natural history museums, I might be a bit of a connoisseur. And even though the Upper West Side's AMNH is still my favorite, and South Kensington's main hall is a gorgeous room, I have to put another natural history museum on the map for their lovely collection of bugs...
Above, shots from the glass-case insect displays inside Paris' Grande Galerie de l'Evolution at the Museum national d'Histoire naturelle. The many buildings of the museum are located inside the 5eme's Jardin des Plantes.

I love this... the lighting and the subject matter makes the photos rather eerie. I don't think I've seen bugs displayed in this manner in a museum before, seems very Victorian.
love this set...
Wow, this is a beautiful post! Really well done, and the way the insects are presented and the way you shot these makes it look as though these are design pieces more than photographs. Very cool.
not as nasty as i would have thought.
I really like the informal layout of the bugs; it's like they're travelling in a pack.
Such warm and tender shots, it just feels so museumy, lovely.
