ADDITIONAL NOTES:

In related photo news, this photo is also posted in a short critical item I wrote for Parisist about the Jeu de Paume's presentation of Lee Friedlander's photography, of which I'm a fan.

refining a vocabulary of visuals for paris in action

As always, tremendous images. I particularly like the photo of the museum visitors and of the lovers in the park, next to the water. Rion, did you take these photos with the Sigma 18-50 f/2.8 lens you posted about a little while ago?

Thx so much. Photos 3, 4 & 5 are with the sigma. 2 is with the 50mm f1.8 (awful for street shooting), and the rest were with a borrowed tamron 28-75mm f2.8.

Thanks so much for replying. You're getting great results with the Sigma and the Tamron (well, your photos are always great to my eyes, but I'm also admiring the results of the new lenses). I'm sure that constant f2.8 is a nice plus. I've been eyeing the Sigma myself and also might do a little reading about that Tamron. Looking forward to seeing more of your photos.

Ditto on the gallery image. Nice framing and DOF. How was the lighting in that room?

I thought the show "Poétique de la ville" at the Jeu de Paume, Site Sully was also quite lovely and afterwards you can walk out to the Place de Vosges, the oldest square in Paris.
