ADDITIONAL NOTES:
Photoblogging in Paris has been challenging on a few different levels:First, I work at home and when I go out, I'm running errands, carrying a lot, and trying to get back to my computer. (Plus, there's that whole, "I'm pregnant/tired thing.") Shooting isn't on the forefront of my mind.
Then, there's the fact that Parisians are highly aware and moderately suspicious of cameras. It's not like NYC, where people ignore you. Here, you're stared at as a tourist/intruder. It can harm the photos and personally, it's more exhausting to pull out the camera. (I've written about this before, and recently spoke with a friend/photoblogger who was visiting from NYC and also got that vibe.)
Finally, after almost seven years of photoblogging, it's difficult for me to take photos without people in them. Buildings, streetscapes, type and signs, street junk... I feel like I've done that. But at the same time, I really haven't done much of that in Paris, so I probably should still capture those authentic little daily details. It *is*, afterall, what I see and live every day.
So as a part of my 2008 new year's resolution, I'm concentrating on taking fewer photos with my cell phone, and, in turn, I'm trying to take more everyday life photos in the Paris streets with my 30D... we'll see how it turns out.
