ADDITIONAL NOTES:

We've lived on the left bank for two years now, and despite it having ridiculously expensive restos (we go to the 11th and the 20th for better/cooler/cheaper eats) and probably nothing interesting going on, we do have the Jardin du Luxembourg (which is perfect for kids) and these amazingly historic buildings that are so uniquely Paris.

A bit about the history of Paris architecture here, and on this site: more building landscapes in the 12th here and here, plus a reader favorite from the corner of Sebastopol and Etienne Marcel in the 1st here.
